Did you know that one out of seven drivers nationwide isuninsured? NATIONWIDE. Even if your state requires that every driver hasinsurance (which most do), there are some who do not follow that small littledetail. The state of Florida is rankedone of the highest in the country that has motorists driving without insurance, even with the strong penalties of accountability some let these coverageslapse.

So what happens when you get into an accident with anunderinsured motorist? Just like with any other accident, make sure thateveryone involved does not need emergency medical assistance, call 911 andstart gathering information. Both drivers should exchange names and contactinformation, license plate numbers, document any damages done to either vehiclealong with time, date and location of the accident. Once the police arrive at the accident, theywill talk with both parties, interview witnessed and gather information todetermine which motorist is at fault.

The laws in Florida mandate that all motorists have propercar insurance. For those who do not have that, not only are they drivingillegally, but they are subject to pay out of pocket for any damages or medicalissues that arise from a car accident. They can also have their licensessuspended or revoked. Because Florida is a no-fault state, most accident claimswill be paid out by insurance companies. Generally, your insurance company willcover 80% while the remaining 20% is covered by the party at fault’s insurancecompany. When this individual is uninsured you do have the option to sue.

If you have received a significant amount of personalinjuries due to a car accident where you were hit by an uninsured driver, suingcan be an option to get what is owed. Many times an uninsured motorist has noprotection when they are a defendant, which means more often than not you willwin the case. However, many uninsured motorists do not have the financialstability to cover all damages at once. If this is the case a schedule ofpayments will be arranged so that way you receive the money for expenses andthe defendant will not fall into financial hardship. If the uninsured motorist,or defendant, becomes tardy in payments or refuses to pay, they will beconsidered a debtor in the state of Florida and retributions such as garnishingof wages or seizing property through a levy, will occur.

Because of Florida’s laws and common occurrence of uninsuredmotorists in New Port Richey FL, Doran, Beam & Farrell attorneys are readyto assist you and help ease the pain of this troubling time for you. We careabout your rights and want you to focus on getting better while we take care oflegal actions. An accident may be an accident but that does not mean you haveto pay out of pocket for someone’s carelessness. Call us today!

In the United States, roughly 30% of adults own a firearm, and another 43% say they live in a household where a gun is present. America has the highest rates of private gun ownership than any other country, Yemen being the next rated in ownership. Many law-abiding citizens use and own firearms for a number of different reasons. Recreation and hunting are some of the more frequent uses for guns, followed by self-protection and defending one’s property. Today’s society and tragic events have caused guns to be a hot issue of discussion. When it comes to laws in relation to guns and firearms, they can become intricate, perplexing and sometimes just unclear both at the state and federal levels. Nevertheless, these laws are important and when dealing with gun owners’ rights it is paramount to have experienced professionals at your side.

Even the most responsible licensed gun owner can fall into an innocent misinterpretation when dealing with gun lawwhich can result in larger and more serious consequences. Some individuals may find themselves piled with expensive legal bills, behind bars and a loss of property to name a few. One single felony conviction can permanently strip an individual’s rights of firearm possession away.

Through Doran, Beam & Farrell’s division of Gulf Coast Gun Law, our team assists with responsible citizens and licensed dealers in the firearm industry to protect their rights in accordance with the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and under both state and federal laws.

When it comes to firearms, they should be dealt with respect rather than fear. The laws that help govern their acquisition, possession, and use should also be held to some respect and not grouped into any event that may have taken place. This is an exception to the rule. Most law-abiding gun owners are just that, law-abiding. Rumors, misinformation and tall tales about firearms are spread throughout the public claiming fact to laws when indeed it is not. Our team knows how to educate clients on these laws and in turn with assist and will advise with any legal needs.

Our areas of expertise range from individual gun ownership to licensed dealers, to range facilities and manufacturers. We will help to prepare and NFA Firearm Trusts and represent citizens in all matters of gun law. This includes license denials or suspensions (including concealed weapons), gun purchase denials and recovery of seized or stolen guns. We are also available to advise law-abiding individuals on almost any issues that involve the legal ownership and use of a firearm.

We are able to assist any new businesses with correct applications for licensing, ATF compliance inspections, and limit liability by promoting safety in dealer shops and ranges. This can also be said for manufacturer’s issues of zoning, licensing and contracts.

When dealing with your rights for firearm possession, make sure you stay a law-abiding citizen and contact the experts at Doran, Beam & Farrell to assist and fight for your rights.
